Travemunde to Eutin – 30km
22C
Terrain: road and offroad, 10km along the sea, nice
This morning started a little unexpectedly. Bob clearly hadn’t been very well overnight 🙁
No problem through, mum had kindly sent me new inner tubes just a few days ago so no need to use the puncture kit, was on my way 10 minutes later, phew (lucky escape No 1).
After about 5km, I hit the sea and had a wonderful 10km along a beautiful promenade following the beach. The sea looked like a lake, stunning.
Bob enjoying the view
The places I went through were Niendorf, Timmendorfer and Strand. To be honest, these are my favourite seaside resorts so far and I seem to have been through a few! Some wonderful looking hotels also.
Then heading back inland, my route threw up another unexpected surprise.
Clearly couldn’t go that way so took a little detour, fortunately only adding a few extra kilometers and on lovely quiet roads, no complaints (lucky escape No 2).
The weather has now really cooled down and while probably not great for holidaymakers, I’m very happy about it!
Arriving in Eutin, headed into town. Came across a slightly unexpected sign (check out the bottom one?)
Very hungry, I treated myself to my first Flamekuchen, yum yum! Basically a type of pizza but local to the region, thoroughly recommended.
Happy and satisfied.
Run Viv run!!
