Terrain: country roads and busy roads
Bonjour! Woohoo, I can now speak to people in their own language, it’s the best! I crossed over into the French-speaking part of Belgium today.
Today was a much better day. The sun was out, my legs were fresh and for the first half I was back in the countryside on lovely little roads.
Thank you to my lovely friends who wrote kind messages yesterday following my slightly more downbeat post. They provided a really uplifting start to the day.
Strangely, I was actually stopped for directions today by a German couple and was able to help!
For the second half of today’s route and what looks like the whole of tomorrow’s, I was back on the a cycle lane/hard shoulder. With quite a few lorries, it’s not the most comfortable but at least I can see them coming and keep Bob safe.
I’m staying in a B&B tonight run by a wonderfully kind family who invited me to have dinner with them. A wonderful evening with delicious food and interesting discussion about all of kinds of things from travel to politics to royalty. Wonderful people and good times.
