Chartres to Bonneval – 39km

Terrain: more lovely countryside roads.
As luck has it I arrived at a campsite this afternoon having called about an hour earlier and have managed to bag a caravan to sleep in for the night, result. The temperature has dropped quite significantly (after some really wonderful weather) and it’s pouring down with rain. Plus, when I arrived, I was informed that just after my call, someone else had called wanting to reserve the caravan! Lucky!
Home for the night, even Bob has a roof.
I felt much better today, thankfully. Quite surprising given it was pretty chilly most of the way with strong wind (I was lucky to have finished though before the rain came lashing down). Mentally, I felt ready to tackle the next challenge and physically, I was able to run again with no knee pain, great! So despite the longer distance things have been on the up today.
The route was great too, no busy roads to deal with just country ones and to be honest, I barely saw any cars which was wonderful.
Following this handily marked cycle route.
I know the last couple of posts have been a little downbeat which I try to avoid but then I always told myself that I wanted to be honest in this blog, share my ups and downs, which I suppose are going to be inevitable on this kind of journey.
But, in the end its backed up with some positivity 🙂 and I’ve also had some ice cream!
