Sorigny to Les Ormes – 41km
19C and beautiful
Terrain: mostly flat country roads.
What a beautiful day. I started out with the sun rising over the fields creating long shadows and with a clear blue sky, happy.
Another minor challenge today…
…but fortunately, it only added about 1 kilometer on in the end, phew.
Days like this are completely restorative. While today was one of my longer days in terms of distance, it was genuinely a pleasure. Breathing in the fresh country air, watching the wildlife and feeling relaxed with the warm sun on my skin.
I did come across another man with a rifle on his hunting duties quite early on but no sign of an official hunting zone today.
Check out this cycle hi-way! (my obsession continues…)
Stopping to have lunch in a field, I watched the clouds go by.
The final straight before arriving in Les Ormes.
Bob taking a break.
Then arriving at the B&B I am staying at, I’m writing this lying in their garden in the sun with my legs up, bliss. Happy legs, happy mind.
A lovely couple run this B&B, they’ve even given me the details of their son who lives in Madrid should I be going that way, so very kind.
Tomorrow is another short one which for some reason I feel a bit guilty about but in this part of the France, I’m essentially going between places I can stay and sometimes, it’s just too far without splitting it into two. The shorter days also give my legs a bit of a rest.
It’s funny to think that I started this journey off doing 20km a day and now that almost feels like a rest day. Just shows how we adapt really.
What a difference the sun makes!
bravo pour ces 41 kms!
c’est vrai que cette région n’est pas très peuplée
je t’embrasse
