Terrain: fairly flat roads.
Today was one of those days when as I was leaving this morning my body was shouting at me, NOOOOO!
But actually, once the blood started flowing it was ok. Fortunately, the route was much easier today, mostly road and fairly flat. I also walked more to allow my legs to recover a little as tomorrow is a longer one (then a rest day, woohoo!).
While some days feel hard, I have to keep reminding myself that this is nothing compared to what refugees go through every day across the world. For one, I have everything I need on me, food, clothes, tent etc if I need it but actually most nights I have a roof over my head. Particularly comforting when it’s pouring down (like now), refugees clearly don’t have this luxury. It certainly keeps me grounded.
I also found out last night that a work colleague is organizing something pretty amazing to support this cause which I’ll share in due course. I feel utterly privileged to know some amazing people!
I think the theme for today was colour, despite the grey sky.
Shades of autumn (walking through this forest was so calming).
Amazing wild flower garden in front of a farm.
More small flowers in the fields. These roads are just so quiet, you can drift away in your own merry thoughts (and even meditate!).
Arriving in Lusignan, I had a bite to eat and then a wander. It’s a sleepy small town but quite pretty.
The party awaits…
In just over a week, I get to see my Mum again and my friend Jo is coming to visit also. Already feeling excited!
