Bit of a tough day today, physically and mentally, just one of those days that you just need to get through. More dual carriageways, but the good thing about Spain is that, so far, on most of the big roads, there’s a proper hard shoulder that Bob and I can use along with a few cyclists. So while not particularly pleasant, it’s not too bad either.
Not a very nice part, through massive industry on the way out of Tarragona.
Sorry about my boring obsession with roads, cycle path etc!
On the plus side, I did go through Tarragona. I didn’t really stop to explore but what I saw of the city seemed pretty nice. There’s even a Roman amphitheater looking out onto the sea.

Salou, today’s destination, is another seaside resort. Again, lots of places were closed, in fact it can be difficult to find a place to eat in these towns, catastrophe! But found somewhere in the end, phew, and had a little wander along the sea front.
Major annoyance, my iphone is caput (due to rain, grrr) so no more podcasts. A little too much time with me, myself and I!
BUT, my Dad is coming to visit me tomorrow for a couple of days. So so excited! He works in China and while he’s in Europe for meetings he’s making time to come and see me. We’re going to have to play the Where’s Wally game tomorrow so hopefully we’ll find each other. Then, on Monday, I’m going to spend a rest day with him.
I’ll also be able to give the old achilles a rest for a day. It’s not the happiest so hopefully it’ll help a little, fingers crossed.
