El Perrello to Amposta – 26km
18C
Terrain: roads
Leaving the small hotel I was staying at last night, the owner gave me a gift, local olive oil and honey, so lovely.
It put a smile on my face all day. She’d been on many cycling tours herself and had seen what sounded like most of Spain by bike, pretty impressive.
I then got lost!!! Well not so much lost as my phone directions taking me up a steep hill (thank you!) to find that the expected route simply didn’t exist. U-turn and back to the start. Oh well…this slight detour only added a couple of kilometers thankfully.
I managed to find a few bits of quieter road today, it makes such a difference. Most of the time, I’m following the N-340 which is pretty busy with lots of lorries so it’s nice to have a little peace and quiet.
Last stretch
I also managed to get my mind back in gear today I think. I’ve really been struggling the last few days, probably the most so far on this challenge. I think my injuries were playing on my mind and I’m conscious of the number of kilometers I still have left. I keep reminding myself there are other options if need be.
Lots of conversations and pep talks with myself. I realised I can only control what I can control. So I’m going to focus on that and continue my philosophy of one step and one day at a time. It’s calmed the mind a little.
So far on this journey, it’s been all about breaking things down into manageable challenges, which I often also apply to life and projects in general to avoid getting overwhelmed. I just need to continue like this and see how things/body progress.
A few more pics from today.

My coder is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on several websites for about a year and am concerned about switching to another platform. I have heard very good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I appreciate, cause I found exactly what I was looking for. You’ve ended my 4 day long hunt! God Bless you man. Have a great day. Bye
